Bespoke watermark papers
Security Paper Experts
The base material serves as the first line of defence against the fraudulent use of security documents. We use restricted materials that can only be accessed by authorised security printers. A1 Security Print holds a range of security papers which are available for immediate use on small to large-volume requirements. We will provide a consultative approach, advising on the best solution for your specific project, including the paper weight, watermark design and additional security features. Why use security papers?
- Secure - We work with Government, Healthcare, Banking & Education organisations to provide official high-security documents. Secure papers are used on products such as cheques, certificates, tickets, vouchers, visas, vehicle documents, and many others.
- Authentic - These security papers contain overt, covert and forensic features that allow for multi-level authentication. Easy-to-recognise features such as watermarks allow for verification and in-depth features can be examined in detail to prove the legitimacy of a document.
- Protection - The security features in these papers protect high-value documents from being fraudulently altered or counterfeited.
- Bespoke - We will develop a bespoke security paper specification suited to your exact requirements by combining the appropriate layers of security features.
- Restricted - Our IRIS watermarked paper is not available from any other manufacturer. This offers an excellent balance between the cost benefits of a house watermarked paper and the additional security benefits of the bespoke alternative. It is available as 95gsm, 120gsm and 160gsm with UV fibres and embedded threads also available in the 160gsm.
Security Paper Features
- Chemical Sensitisation - Chemicals are added to the paper that react with bleaches, solvents and acids. This leaves a visible stain if chemical alteration is attempted. The benchmark standard of chemical sensitisation is CBS1.
- Toner and inkjet adhesion properties - Depending on whether you're using a laser or inkjet printer to personalise your documents, toner adhesion or inkjet coatings can be added to the paper to strengthen the binding between the substrate and the personalisation.
- Ultraviolet dull - Optical bleaching agents are not used in the manufacturing of security paper. This means that the paper is UV dull and invisible UV features can be incorporated.
- Fluorescent coloured fibres & planchettes - We can add visible or invisible fibres or planchettes to your paper as a simple ultra-violet authentication feature. These fibres are available in multiple colours and lengths.
- Embedded threads - A thread containing microtext can be fully embedded or windowed within the paper.
- Watermark design - The design of the watermark can be positioned all over the paper or in a registered, repeating positions.
- Self-adhesive - We can convert your security paper into a self-adhesive tamper-evident sticker.
