General Description
The IT Technician is a key member of the IT Team and reports to the IT Manager. The IT Technician is expected to make a major contribution to the development and success of the business both within and beyond this job description.
Main purpose of role
To provide IT hardware/software support to the IT Manager.
Essential skills
- A minimum of 5 years IT Industry experience
- Microsoft Windows Server Operating System
- Anti-Virus System Management
- Windows 10 OS troubleshooting, support and installation
- Apple Mac Experience
- Active Directory
- Group Policy Management
- Setup and Installations
- Cyber Security
- Log checking and Analysis
- CCTV support
- Firewalls and Switches
- Exchange 365
- Office 365
- IP Phones (SIP)
- Patch Management
- Mobile Device Management
- Mobile Telephony Support
- End User Support
- Remote Support
- Hardware and Software Support
- Working to ISO27001 standard experience
- Cyber Essentials Plus experience a nice to have
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Patch Management, Hardware Installation, Maintenance & Repair.
- PC hardware & software support.
- Troubleshooting user issues.
- MIS Report writing.
- Learning new technologies as and when required which may help in the improvement of the department.
- Informing the IT Manager of any misuse of the companies computerised systems.
- To solve problems rapidly, highlighting problems to the attention of the IT Manager.
- To maintain a safe, clean and well organised working environment at all times.

To maintain good and co-operative relationships with colleagues involved in other aspects of the business or operations in order to promote strong teamwork and co-operation across the company to meet business objectives.
To participate in or lead improvement groups or teams to bring your own knowledge and experience, and those of others, to bear on improving processes, practices or the working environment.
Training & Flexibility
To undertake training as required by the Company or for your own professional development from time to time on new processes, legislation or management.
To seek improvement in personal performance and the performance of colleagues through review, discussion and training.
To provide cover for colleagues in the event of absence.
Health & Safety
To ensure that you adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and that work is conducted in a safe manner.
You must also be aware of your legal obligations under Sections 7 and 8 of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. These require employees to take reasonable care of themselves and others and to not recklessly interfere with anything provided in the interests of health and safety.

To ensure that Quality procedures are followed in full.
Information Security
You must be aware of the information security requirements as per the ISO 27001 Information Security Manual and applicable procedures ensuring compliance.
Desired skills
Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
You need to be able to communicate well with your team.
You’ll also need to be reliable and have a can-do approach.
Personal qualities
Someone with an enthusiastic, versatile and professional attitude.
You will need to be punctual, reliable, honest and have a strong work ethic.
You must be able to work as part of a team, but also be able to work on your own to achieve targets and deadlines.
A key characteristic for this person would be versatility.
Benefits
- 40 Hours per week: Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00 with 1/2 break.
