Confidential Exam Printing Solutions

At A1 Security Print we ensure that confidentiality and security are the key focus in all of our printing services, including examination printing. We use a variety of features to keep our examination print works confidential, including sequential control numbers and barcodes which are a key factor in the traceability of examination booklets through the production and distribution process. This can help if packets of examination booklets are intercepted in transit because the sequential control number and barcode can assist the authorities in investigating exactly where the interception and leakage took place.

OMR Forms

The technology known as OMR (optical mark recognition) allows for the electronic extraction of desired data from marked fields on printed forms, such as checkboxes and fill-in fields. OMR technology reads predetermined points on a printed form by scanning it, and it records where marks are put on the form.

ICR Forms

An alternative version of OCR called intelligent character recognition (ICR) this allows for the conversion of manually entered text characters into machine-readable characters. A1 Security Print manufactures millions of these forms, and by bringing a rigorous focus to quality and accuracy, we have helped our customers reduce their error rates significantly.

    EXAMINATION PRINT FAQS

    Examination question paper booklets are usually printed in black ink on white paper, folded and stitched into booklets. The booklets include control numbers and barcodes on various pages to assist traceability. Signature marks are also printed on the spines of the booklets, this allows them to be identified easily. We use opaque tamper evident envelopes to pack the booklets so that the contents can not be read through the envelope.

    OMR scannable forms are Optical Mark Reader forms which use special papers and inks to enable high-speed scanning to read the information and present the data for marking and data collection. These are used mostly for multiple-choice question examinations.
