This month, our Business Development Manager Dave Bissell has been celebrating his twelve-month anniversary at A1SP. Celebrating one year at a new job wouldn’t typically be newsworthy, however, considering Dave’s achievements in such a short period of time, we couldn’t let this one go!
Dave joined A1SP to set up a new short run forms division, specialising in short and medium run continuous forms books and pads. During the last twelve months, Dave has managed to bring in 93 new customers and has produced over 650 new orders. Considering that seven of those twelve months have been some of the most challenging months our industry has faced due to the global pandemic, this is a real testament to his dedication and commitment to our trade.
Dave has been in the industry 35 years. He started at PFC in Cradley Heath as a paper buyer then moved on to Form Design and Datagraphic. He then spent 21 years as the MD of Fast Forms before joining our team at A1SP.
Dave joined us, along with his account manager Sam Hewitt, in September 2019. He wanted to join a successful business with an ongoing investment strategy, not only to bring new products to his loyal customer base but to grow this customer base with new products and a more competitive offering.
Over the last 35 years Dave has seen a lot of change in his sector, most notably turn-around times. Remarking on his experience, Dave commented: “35 years ago forms were delivered in 7 – 8 weeks from order, these days on average we have less than 7 days . . . Technology has also changed the industry dramatically, CTP was the first big change to the forms industry, but now the rise of inkjet and digital technology really has revolutionised the way we do things”.
Jim Richardson, Managing Director of A1SP, added: “I’m extremely pleased with the work Dave and Sam have done building this new division. I can only imagine how much more they could have achieved in a normal year! They’ve both worked very hard to get these results and I know 2021 will be even better. We are now looking at an inkjet investment specifically to offer Dave and Sam additional capacity and an enhanced product range for their customers.”
We hope Dave will remain a part of the A1SP team for many more years to come, and we thank him and Sam for their outstanding contributions over the past 12 months.
