A1 Security Print is pleased to announce the achievement of Cyber Essentials Plus during its re-accreditation audit; the highest level of certification offered under the Cyber Essentials Scheme

Cyber-crime continues to rise in scale and complexity, affecting essential services, businesses, and private individuals. It costs the UK billions of pounds whilst threatening national security. Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed and industry-supported scheme that helps businesses protect themselves against the growing threat of cyber-attacks and provides a clear statement of the basic controls organisations should have in place to protect themselves. It is the UK Government’s answer to a safer internet space for organisations of all sizes, across all sectors.

Developed and operated by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), the audit involves numerous vulnerability tests to ensure protection against hacking and phishing attacks. We have successfully achieved re-certification of the standard every year since 2017 when A1 first became accredited.

Wayne Thompson, IT Manager, comments:

“Cyber essentials Plus involves an in-depth audit far more challenging than the standard cyber essentials standard, including both internal and external vulnerability testing. To achieve and maintain this we have made a significant investment in the last 6 months to further upgrade the level of cyber security to protect the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of the data under our protection and control.

With the growing number of malware threats in the world, we have increased the protection of our devices with a number one rated anti-virus solution, inclusive of market leading ransomware protection.

With 91% of cyber-attacks starting with an email, we have purchased an upgraded email gateway security suite to stop advanced threats such as targeted spear phishing and ransomware.

To ensure our team are running with the latest and most secure technology to fulfil our business needs, we have also invested in a completely new suite of new PC’s and laptops. These actions have led to a successful upgrade from ‘Cyber Essentials’ to Cyber Essentials Plus certification.”

Summary

Cyber Essentials Plus certification demonstrates that our organisation takes a proactive stance against malicious cyber-attacks. In addition, it offers a mechanism to demonstrate to customers and others that we have taken the essential precautions to protect our organisation against cyber threats.

Quality, security, innovation, and customer service are the cornerstones of our business. This upgraded accreditation is yet another step in the right direction for A1SP.
