FAQS
Intaglio printing is a printing process in which an image is etched or engraved onto a surface. Intaglio printing has a distinctive and tactile effect which can be felt as the ink is raised above the surface of the paper.
A metal plate is used in the printing technique known as intaglio printing to etch or engrave an image, which is subsequently used to transfer ink onto paper or other surfaces.
You can use intaglio printing for banknotes, passports, immigration visas, tax stamps, bearer bonds, title documents, stocks and share certificates and brand protection stickers.
Intaglio printing is highly secure due to it being raised printing which creates a raised image on the paper which can then be felt by touch for verification. It can also include fine-line printing, watermarks, microprinting and guilloche patterns.
Intaglio Printing By Sector
Manufacturing
Luxury goods like perfumes, cosmetics, and wine bottles can have high-end packaging and labelling manufactured using intaglio printing. The product’s perceived worth may be increased by the raised printing and other security elements of intaglio printing.
Finance
The creation of banknotes and other forms of currency is one of the most well-known uses of intaglio printing. Intaglio printing is the perfect method for producing high-security banknotes since it produces fine details and elaborate designs.
Retail
In regards to fine art printing, intaglio printing is also often employed to produce excellent replicas of artwork which can then be sold in the retail sector. Intaglio printing’s precise details and delicate shading may accurately reproduce the subtleties of the original artwork.
